Our shuttle bus can hold up to 14 people for larger groups needing transportation.
Duke Tower Hotel & Condominiums is unique among Durham medical lodging providers in providing a free, 24-hour shuttle to and from Duke Medical Center. We take people back and forth to the Medical Center whenever they want, 24-7. All they have to do is call our shuttle cell phone at 919-328-0667.
Since we have staff on site 24 hours a day, it is easy for us to provide this 24-hour service.
We also provide shuttle service to Duke East Campus, Duke West Campus and to Durham Regional Hospital, which is operated by Duke. We find that some patients are discharged from Duke Medical Center after their initial treatment but then transferred over to Durham Regional for continued observation.
We will pick up and drop people off along the way, including Whole Foods grocery, the Ninth Street shopping area, American Tobacco and the Brightleaf Square restaurant district.
As a Duke Medical lodging provider, we think it is important that people feel comfortable and confident that they can get back and forth to Duke Hospital at any time. They do not have to worry about driving, finding the hospital if you are new to town or finding parking. You can save on gas and on paying for parking in one of Duke’s parking decks. Furthermore, since you or your relative is going to Duke Medical Center, you probably have more important things on your mind than driving and parking.
We find, for example, that sometimes friends or spouses want to spend the night in the hospital room with their loved one. At 3:00 AM, however, they have had enough and want to get a few hours of sleep on one of our Tempurpedic mattresses. They can call our shuttle and we will come and pick you up, no problem.
If you are from outside the USA, you may be wary of driving here. Don’t worry, you can leave the driving to us.
Quite a few guests who stay with us do not drive or rent a car at all, relying instead on our reliable and comfortable shuttle service.
We provide an airport shuttle to and from Raleigh-Durham International Airport for $35, with $5 for each additional person. This rate is comparable with local taxi services and you can ride in confidence with the hotel transportation. The trip takes about twenty minutes. Please arrange this service in advance with the front desk.
We generally shuttle small groups of guests in our security car, but we can move larger groups in shuttle bus, shown above.
