About Duke Tower Hotel and Condominiums

Duke Tower Hotel and Condominiums is an all-suite, all condo hotel located near Duke University, Duke Medical Center, downtown Durham and Research Triangle Park in Durham, North Carolina, USA. We are three blocks from Duke’s East Campus on Trinity Avenue and seven minutes from Duke Medical Center.

Each unit at Duke Tower is a fully furnished condo, with living room, bedroom, bathroom and complete kitchen, with pots, pans and utensils.

Each condo has two TVs with cable TV and HBO, free high-speed Internet service (WiFi is available throughout the complex) and free local phone service, with voicemail. All condos feature Tempurpedic mattresses, very high quality memory-foam mattresses rarely available in hotels. All condos open to our beautifully landscaped courtyard. Free housekeeping is available once a week and more often for a small fee.

We have a large outdoor pool and the Historic Tower Cafe where you can enjoy breakfast ($5/adult, $2.50/children under 12) or free coffee/tea/hot chocolate after breakfast hours. We have a complimentary copy of the New York Times delivered daily and play classical music (WCPE) in the cafe.

We are pet-friendly and love having furry guests. Some smoking suites are available. We are a two-story complex with an elevator/handicapped lift to the second floor.

We provide a free, 24-hour shuttle to Duke Medical Center/West Campus and points along the way, such as the Brightleaf Square restaurant district and the Whole Foods/Ninth Street shopping area.  We are the only hotel in Durham to offer a free shuttle to Durham Regional Hospital. We offer a for-fee 24-hour shuttle service to/from RDU Airport for $35 person/$5 each additional person.

We have bicycle rentals, DVD player rentals, a covered walking track (five laps equal one mile), free shuffleboard and outdoor giant chess/checkers board and pieces to make your stay more fun. Our landscaped courtyard receives many accolades for its beauty and serenity, with many places to relax or socialize. We have local artists’ work on display (some are for sale) and many bird feeders to attract our fine feathered friends. We are an “Oasis in the Heart of the City.”

We offer numerous services at reasonable prices, including laundry/dry cleaning, “Ship It Home” packing and shipping (for guests who have accumulated too much stuff during their stay), car cleaning, massage therapy, home health care, pet care, manicure/pedicure, taxi and discount car rentals. An on-site coin laundry is available for guests to do-it-yourself.

Our warm, friendly and efficient staff will make you feel at home and your stay one that you fondly remember.

Our base rate is $85 per night, with discounts available for medical stays, dieters, interviewing students, government employees, AARP and AAA members. Rates are $10 more for premium suites, which include wide-screen TVs, new Pergo flooring, upgraded furniture and often refurbished bathrooms with walk-in showers. (They are well worth the extra $10!) Pet suites are $10 more per night. Rates are also higher at some seasonally busy periods.

If you find this all to be too good to be true, please come by and check us out. We are at the corner of Duke Street and Trinity Avenue, three blocks (easy walking distance) from Duke’s East Campus, near downtown Durham, Brightleaf Square, Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the American Tobacco Campus. We are across the street from the Durham School of the Arts. Feel free to park, come into the courtyard and wander around. We are sure you will be pleasantly surprised at what you find.
